Op woensdag 12 juni a.s. geef ik van 10 tot 12 een workshop haken aan de hand van mijn boekje Slingers Haken. De workshop kost 7,50 euro inclusief materiaal. Ik geef de workshop bij Het Cultuurcafe in Noordwijk. Wil je meedoen? Er is maar een heel beperkt aantal plaatsen en het is eenmalig dus wees er snel bij als je je op wilt geven. Phildar heeft een aantal nieuwe garens aan het assortiment toegevoegd, en een van deze garens is Phil Douce. Het is denk ik het zachtste garen wat ik ooit gevoeld heb en ik kan niet wachten er iets van te maken. Zo zag ik gisteren een hele leuke teddybeer (klik hier, hier of hier voor een patroon) gemaakt van Phil Douce maar op de website van Phildar (klik hier) zie je nog heel veel andere dingen die je ermee kunt maken.

De giveaway van deze keer is denk ik weer een hele leuke. Je kunt niet alleen een bol Phil Douce winnen, maar ook een Mollie Makes (Engelse versie) en een klein pakketje met allemaal leuke hebbedingetjes zoals een haaknaald geschikt voor Phil Douce, een paar veiligheidsoogjes en nog een paar kleinigheidjes die ik nu niet verklap. Phildar added a few new yarns to their range, and one of them is Phil Douce. It's probably the softest yarn I ever felt and I can't wait to make something of it. I saw a cute teddybear made out of Phil Douce (click here, here or here for a pattern), but on the website of Phildar (click here) you can see a lot of other things made with it.

Today

Stempelworkshop bij Gertie Jaquet

Vandaag ging ik naar een workshop waar ik al een tijdje naar uitkeek: Stempels Maken. De workshop deed ik bij Gertie Jaquet in Amsterdam, die naast deze leuke blog over stempels maken ook hele mooie illustraties maakt. Meer over die illustraties lees je hier op haar andere blog.
Dat het vandaag heel hard regende was dus eigenlijk helemaal niet erg, want wij zaten lekker binnen. Ik maakte drie verschillende stempels, twee keer een appel en een appelboom. Je kan wel zeggen dat ik in een soort appel-periode zit :-)
Na afloop moesten we door de regen terug naar het station. Onderweg kwamen we in een leuke winkel terecht, met tweedehands kleren en prachtige gehaakte dekens. Er gaat geen dag voorbij zonder dat ik iets gehaakts maak of zie, en dit bewees het maar weer.
Terug in Delft regende het nog steeds. Gelukkig was het niet druk bij de Bagel and Beans, dus daar maar gauw even opgewarmd met een heerlijke koffie. En dat was zo'n beetje het einde van mijn heerlijke dag. Ik hoop dat jullie ook een leuke dag hebben gehad!

Today I went to a workshop that I'd been looking forward to for a long time: Making Stamps. I followed the workshop at Gertie Jaquet in Amsterdam. She has this lovely blog about stamps, but she also makes a lot of very pretty illustrations. Read more about her illustrations here on her other blog.
It rained a lot today, but that wasn't a problem at all because we were inside. I made three different stampt, two apples and an apple tree. I guess you can say I'm in an apple-period :-)
When the workshop was finished we had to walk through the rain to the station. Halfway we saw a very pretty shop with lovely secondhand clothes and crocheted blankets. There's never a day without crochet, and this proved to be true again.
When I returned in Delft it was still raining. Luckily there were not many people at my favourite coffee shop Bagel and Beans, so I warmed myself with a great coffee and that was almost the end of today. I hope you had a lovely day too!

Dolls!

Het is alweer een tijd geleden dat ik iets voor mezelf heb ontworpen. De meeste dingen die ik recentelijk maakte waren voor boekjes of tijdschriften. Dat is natuurlijk enorm leuk om te doen, maar soms is het ook fijn om zonder dat er druk op ligt iets te bedenken en te maken.
Deze poppen wilde ik al een tijdje maken, en gelukkig was er zo nu en dan tijd om er aan te knutselen. De grote is gemaakt met Drops Paris (met deze haaknaald), de kleine met Phildar Cotton 3 (met deze haaknaald). Phildar Cotton 3 was nieuw voor mij, maar ik moet zeggen dat het erg fijn haakt. Het lijkt op Catania, met dezelfde mooie glans. Als je dus eens iets anders wilt proberen, weet dan dat dit een aanrader is.
Het patroontje vind je trouwens hier. Als je zelf Phildar Cotton 3 eens wilt uitproberen dan kun je onder andere bij Knottenwol in Delft terecht.

It was a while ago when I made something totally for myself. Most crochet items I designed recently were for books or magazines. Ofcourse that's a lot of fun to do, but sometimes it's really nice to make something without pressure.
I wanted to make these dolls for some time now, and luckily I had the time to work on them. The large doll is made with Drops Paris (with this crochet hook), the small one with Phildar Cotton 3 (with this crochet hook). Phildar Cotton 3 was a new kind of yarn for me, but I must say it's really nice to work with. It looks a bit like Catania, with the same pretty glow. So if you would like to try something else, this yarn is a really good choice.

Ik heb heel erg leuk nieuws, vooral als je zin hebt in een leuk uitje. Op 2 juni a.s. vindt Create 'n Date plaats (klik hier voor de website). Dit kleinschalige evenement wordt georganiseerd door Maaike van de blog Crejjtion. Wie mij al langer volgt weet dat ik een groot fan van haar werk ben, dus dat ze mij vroeg om tijdens Create 'n Date een workshop te verzorgen is een enorme eer. Ik zal er niet alleen zijn. Ook Claire van de blog Haken en Meer en Saskia van de blog Saar en Mien zullen er zijn. En natuurlijk Maaike zelf (helemaal vanuit Canada!). De steekwoorden van Create 'n Date? Voor de workshops die ik geef bij Knottenwol in Delft had ik nog een voorbeeld van een gehaakte tas nodig. Daarom heb ik afgelopen week de Zpagetti maar weer eens uit de kast gehaald. Ik gebruikte dit patroon ervoor. Het is een erg makkelijk patroon en het is in heel veel talen gratis te downloaden. Is het geen leuke tas?

For the workshops I'm giving at Knottenwol in Delft I needed a good example of a crochet bag. Therefore I took the Zpagetti t-shirt yarn out of my closet again. I used this pattern. It's a very easy pattern that can be downloaded in a lot of languages. Isn't it a fun bag?
